2009 Goals

One of my goals this year was to lose weight, get healthy, and be stay athletic.   I have reached my goal of losing weight from 178 to 151 (currently), a total of 27lbs.

Now if I can reach my other goals of reading, and blogging – well blogging includes reading and posting, but I have really cut back on my posting, maybe because I have been busy losing weight.

  1. Thanks! It was a bit hard at first – especially the first week I felt like I was fasting or going to starve to death.

I lost the weight by doing portion control and tracking my calories, and some exercise (brisk walks 3 times a week for 40 minutes). I started at the end of Feb, and have stuck with it. Now I am trying to do a bit more exercise, mostly still walking, but now trying to play some basketball, and do some weight routines.

  2. Robert, Looks like a good site, I’ll have to look into it some more.

I lost 40 lb about 3 years ago, but have gained back 30 of it. I really need to start paying attention again.

If it comes down to blogging vs healthy weight, I think you made the right choice. 🙂

Very nice. My goal was to get back down to 200 again. I lost 5-10 pounds quickly, but I gained it back recently. I’ve started running again last week, and hopefully I can actually get down to my target weight before the winter weather hits.

  4. Thanks TC.

Nathan, try the portion control, check out the site I mentioned to Kevin, just fill in the information and it will tell you how many calories to eat to lose weight. You still need to be active, but it beats trying to be super active, which is difficult for me to do.

Yes. For me it is all about portions and activity. I don’t get much exercise at all, and I eat too much. I was successfully able to quit drinking soda a year or two ago, and my diet is generally health. I just really enjoy eating.

  6. Nathan, trust me I totally know what you mean. Never liked any kind of sodas but pastries had to have something every night. Plus my wife is a really good cook, so I would over eat her cooking because it tastes so good.
